I'm not fake - if I don't like you, chances are, you'll know. I'm not an ass kisser, which is probably why quite a few people tend to dislike me. I'm not "scene" or trendy. I'm not fashionable. I don't define myself by the brand or style of clothing that I'm wearing. I'm not materialistic - sure, I like having nice things, but many other things in life are far more important. I'm not a gold-digger - I don't need people to buy me things and/or take care of me. I'm not a follower, I enjoy walking my own path. As Layne Staley once sang, "If I can't be my own, I'd feel better dead." I'm not skinny. I'm not fat, either. Women who use their bodies to get attention disgust me - please do get a personality. I'm not glamorous - but then, who wouldn't be if they had a professional do their hair/makeup and airbrush their photos? I'm not a social butterfly - I don't need to prove my worth by the amount of "friends" I have. I'm not a "know-it-all." I'm not arrogant, conceited, or self-important. I'm not impressed by your "knowledge" or your college degree or that you know how to use big words. I'm not very optimistic, in fact, I'm very cynical about most things and most people - however, I'll give almost anyone a chance, so long as they do the same in return. I'm not very trusting, but if you gain my trust, I'll go to the ends of the earth for you, unless of course, you break that trust. I'm not chipper or perky or loud. I'm not a perfect example of anything, and surely nowhere close to perfect. I'm not always to be taken seriously. I'm not a girly-girl. I'm not a liar, I can't help but express how I really feel. Uh, let's see...I've got a lot of these. Writing, journalism, music, art, psychology, history, historical figures, traveling, concerts, video games, photography, dogs, driving with no particular destination in mind, literature, useless facts, drinking occasionally, karaoke, good conversation, grammar, linguistics, interesting people, foreign languages, hating you, being bitter over the past, sociology, did I mention hating you?, caffeine, mocking people, knowledge, etc.I'll probably add more later.

I'd like to meet:

Billy Corgan, Jerry Cantrell, or Mark Lanegan, I suppose...any of my favorite musicians, really. Maybe some dead writers too. If we're talking about regular people, then I'd say that like-minded people would be nice. I'm only seeking friends, as I'm happily taken by my boyfriend, Phil. The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Conan O' Brien, CSI: New York, Law and Order, Saturday Night Live, That 70's Show, Anderson Cooper 360, The Office, Cowboy Bebop, The Showbiz Show with David Spade, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, just about anything on the History Channel or Animal Planet.

Books:

Too many to name - I mostly read historical fiction and non-fiction, biographies and anything else that seems interesting. I don't read romance novels or "chick lit" - none of that crap.

Heroes:

Robert F. Kennedy. Anyone who takes a stand for people who lack a voice.***************************** *****************************I have no idea why I'm on that site, but I am. Hah!

I finally bought my first car today. I guess actually working, instead of having everything handed to you, can actually be worth the while every so often. The thing is, no one is going to realize that...
