Initially from the San Francisco Bay Area CMJ, aka Chris Johnson, was first bit by the underground dance scene in 1996 at Gaia in Oakland, CA. Starting on a Technics 1200 and a 1970's Yamaha table he quickly caught on to the art of blending beats and a year later landed his first gig at Formula 420 in L.A. This initial gig also featured the likes of Dj Dan, Donald Glaude, Christopher Lawrence and Thomas Michael. From there CMJ continued to rock many parties and locations across the San Francisco Bay Area with his signature pumping funky house, electro, and techno sounds until he relocated to the Los Angeles area in 2001.
Relentlessly pushing forward with his passion for Electronic Dance Music, CMJ is currently working on developing his production skills to amplify his Dj / Producer ambitions to the next level.
