My real name is Sam but I have a stage name of Trace. I use the name Trace because I feel like my music is tracing over my existence and refining me. Also that I'm an artist and I wanted to incorporate art into my stage name. I was in an art school for about 4 years then I turned my interest into music. I was surrounded by music daily where my grandmother sang in the church choir and my uncles and cousins was rappers, singers, and producers. I started writing about the age of 11 where the 12 page stories I was writing transformed into poems. In 2003 I wrote my first song and recorded it and later I would spend my time perfecting my art day and night. I mixed and mastered all of my own tracks. I collaborated with artists all over from Atlanta, Georgia to France.
