Truckin’ Outlaws

About Me

Truckin’ Outlaws’ foundations were laid down in 2002 by vocalist & guitarist Pat, bass player Alex and drummer Yohann. Jamming in Yohann’s basement, that first embodiment of the band wrote rock’n’roll anthems to life’s most interesting offerings (in no particular order): booze, women and loud guitars! Sadly, it lasted for only two years before the guys broke up. Yohann then went on to join his brother Jaryl with black metallers Endless Horizon, while Pat kept the project alive by himself, putting together a demo of the songs written during those two years.

Fast forward to January 2007, Pat and Yohann crossed paths at a concert and spoke for the first time since the split. That night, they decided on giving Truckin’ Outlaws a second shot. Adding Jaryl on guitar to the original line-up, they picked up where they left three years earlier. Two months later, Joey was brought in to handle vocal duties and a third guitarist, Max, joined, further expanding the band’s sound. Then after a few weeks, Max was fired and Alex left. At the same time, Joey learned that his former band mate Frank was available, since his band Fragments of Sentience had just called it quits. Having played with him during his Nephusim and Aquarian days, he knew Frank would fit well with T.O. After a few beers, a quick audition, a lengthy discussion and a couple more beers, Jaryl made the switch to bass and Frank was welcomed as second guitarist. Now with a complete and solid line-up, Truckin’ Outlaws began its rise to the top.

A first single was recorded in November of 2007. The song “We Don’t Care” was chosen to represent T.O.’s potential and be heard by the masses. Then, in April of 2008, the band played its first show at Québec’s Velvet nightclub, finally rocking out for a real audience. As of today, the band is writing new songs and fine tuning old ones before recording again. T.O. also plans on enjoying the live experience many more times. In the meantime, have a listen at the “We Don’t Care” single or Pat’s demo version of “Take the Best” and be sure to check out this page again for news and upcoming shows. Rock on!
