Mist Season

Mist Season was founded in 2004, in Hämeenlinna, Finland.The music of Mist Season can be found somewhere between progressive rock and fusion. Contrary to the present-day trends, every single note in the albums is played by a human hand. Mist Season believes in music played by real persons; music that is meant to mediate feelings, impressions, and stories. Each Mist Season tune tells its own little story.With the second CD "Woodlands" the music is still a combination of progressive rock and fusion, but there are also many new elements included compared to the first one – for example many guest musicians and new instruments ranging anywhere from accordion to tabla and sitar.The music of Mist Season has been compared to that of for example Weather Report, Yellowjackets, Passport, Pekka Pohjola, Camel and Pat Metheny. Nevertheless, the Mist Season sound is ultimately its own.Both CD's have been mixed and mastered by a well-known Finnish record producer and TV journalist Tommi Liuhala, who has ever since the 70’s been working with, for instance, Wigwam, Kalevala and Haikara.One of the highlights of both Mist Season CD's is a 20 page, 4-color booklet that contains photographic art of Esko Tuovinen.
