Rescue 96.2 The Revolution with Radio Republic

About Me

If you are stumbling across this page for the first time you can read what it was all about below.
I am sad to say that the Revolution has now changed hands and God help anyone that can stand more than 5 mins of the 'songs' and smashy nicey presenters. As I write this nearly all the old presenters have left (1 week on).
The good news is that although 96.2 the Revolution is dead the Rev may yet live on in some other guise, sign up to the blog for news updates.
Words will never express how much the Rev meant to so many of us, but I would like to offer my utmost thanks and respect to the brilliant prenters.
Keep the Faith

I am one of many former listeners of 96.2 The Revolution that is in a state of complete despair at recent changes to this radio station.
A couple of years after moving to Manchester I discovered this Oldham based station and can say that without a doubt it is the best station I have ever had the pleasure of making a regular part of my life.
Over the last few months many brilliant dj's have 'left' The Rev and I can't bring myself to type the names of some of the 'artists/bands' that have appeared on the playlists. Lets say its the same rubbish you can hear on many many terrible radio stations.
This is what 96.2 The Revolution says on its myspace page:
"We are a radio station that only plays good records - not the commercial dribble you may hear on other stations."
This was true, so why the change to playing the dribble??????
If the manager that made these decisions can please explain WHY this is not comercial suicide I would love to hear the explanation. Do you not realise that you had a loyal audience that is much wider than your immediate area and they valued the station. If I had the money I would buy ths station, return it to its former brilliance and then market it properly.
