About Me

League of Filipino Students presents..
J.U.F.R.A.N. SPRING 2008
"Journey To Understand Forgotten Reasons To Act Now"
LFS' Peer Mentorship & Internship Program
We, the League of Filipino Students, focus to deepen our understanding of the concrete connections between Filipinos in the United States and in the Homeland by studying and propagating the rich and proud revolutionary heritage of our People's continuing struggle for liberation and National Democracy.
We take it upon ourselves as youth and students to renew our Filipino culture and history, define our present situation as Filipinos all over the world, come to a proper understanding of how to remedy our current condition, and take action.
WHAT IS JUFRAN? JUFRAN is a peer mentorship and internship program put on every spring semester by the League of Filipino Students (LFS) for students at San Francisco State University (SFSU).
JUFRAN provides a safe space, as well as a hands-on learning experience that allows our interns (JUFRANians) to: gain basic organizational skills (i.e. facilitation, note taking, time keeping, event planning, outreach, agenda planning, etc) through hands-on training with the guidance of the JUFRAN coordinators introduce, explore, and discuss the different issues affecting the local Filipino community and throughout the diasporas through educational discussions participate in mini-exposure trips to obtain a concrete understanding of how different issues affect the local Filipino population meet new friends and kasamas!
WHEN AND WHERE DOES JUFRAN MEET?
JUFRAN is a twelve week program with weekly sessions that meet every Wednesday from 4:00pm-6:00pm in CA106 (Creative Arts) at San Francisco State University.
