The next Rise & Shine Talent Showcase:

Unlike the well known, Amateur Night and "It's Showtime at the Apollo"' this is not a talent show competition. It is a performers showcase exbition. Ten selected acts will set their own spotlight and stage. Each will also have the opportunity to connect up close and personal to an attentive audience. This is the first variety showcase series held on the Apollo Theater Soundstage.
Partial proceeds from this event will be donated to the
PETRA A. COLON SCHOLARSHIP FUND, an incentive program set up to offer reward assistance to bright young woman in high school.
Petra A. Colon is the late mother of Mecca Villain the Producer of the Rise & Shine Showcase. Through his volunteer work in the New York City Public High Schools Mecca noticed the need to continue challenging, encouraging, and uplifting our young people. His Mother loved music and always helped anybody who needed a hand. Mecca felt that this would be a great way to honor his Mother’s legacy and continue extending her hand.
The P.A.C. scholarship will be rewarded to a female student in high school pursuing a higher education. It is Mecca’s goal to be able to offer 20 scholarships yearly.
