Floyd Wayland Woods Aka Stoney

About Me

My grand daughter ask me to write about the life of our precious son,Floyd Wayland Woods.Better known to family and friends as Stoney. He gave his self that name when he was around 3 years old by watching Stoney Burke on televison. He had to have cowboy boots and hat.when we went some where people would ask him his name and he told them Stoney Burke. The name Stoney stayed with him through life. Now there are some things I remember that maybe his Dad won't. The same with me,he tell's me things I don't remember. There is one thing we both remember and that's what a loving heart he had. Stoney was a loving child and that love grew as he grew. He was a normal boy growing up,as he hit his teen years and into his twenties I'm sure he did some things he didn't want Mama knowing but then he found God and from that moment on he served Him. In 1984 he became ill and lived with his illness for 19 years and then it took him .During that time he suffered great pain from losing his son at the young age of 18. Never did he let go of his faith in God. He really had a love and a gift for music and that's where these songs come in. There not the only one's he wrote. He just didn't get to stay and finish his dream. There is so many memories,so many things to tell but I don't have the space to tell it all. I just wish that all of you could have known him. Even at the end of his life his thoughts were on others. He was happy that he would be with Jesus but concerned about us and what we would go through. He ask that we not blame God and now 4 1/2 years later I know God didn't take him, God received him. This site was created by his daughter Sara in his memory and to let people hear his music. To Tell his life story, There is one word to tell it all "Love". I just want to end this by saying "We love you Stoney" ♥-Mama-♥
