Jay 5th is the stage name of Jay-Tee Thompson, a rapper from South Central Los Angeles, California who became a video and music star after the success of his 2005 debut on MTV's Pimp My Ride, Pepsi Smash Mic Pass, MTV's 2006 Yo Momma and 2007 BET's College Hill 4. Jay 5th began his career as a Emcee in 2000. Starting off with a kareoke machine and one mic. His self-produced album, (2002-03) Confessions Of A Griot led to to start his own record label Ryda 4 Life Records. He second release, E.L.E.M.E.N.T.A.R.Y (2004) was also a hit, and Jay 5th rose in the ranks of young rappers in Los Angeles. In 2005 Jay 5th appeared in MTV"s Pimp My Ride (starring Xzibit). He also appeared as a comedian trash talker on MTV's Yo Momma(2006) and had a big role in the BET drama series "College Hill: Virgin Islands (2007). In 2007 he changed his perspective on hip-hop and presented himself as having grown from "the Reality guy" into a mature artist. He will released a new album, Ethos, and will shut the industry down with his two new singles "Drop It Down" Produced By: Po Rican of LIUI and "I'm The Real Deal" Produced By: Da Griot of Ryda 4 Life Records
