Il progetto "Utopia Divides" nasce nel settembre 2007 dall'idea di Michele Di Lauro, Andrea Lurdo e Alessandro delli Carri. Abbandonato il vecchio progetto "Infinity Stream" i tre si trasferiscono a Bologna dove completano la line-up con i nomi di Giuseppe Barile e Alessandro Duò. Insieme intraprendono la formativa strada della riproduzione di brani classici del progressive e della composizione di brani inediti. Nel Dicembre 2007, a seguito di alcune incomprensioni (che nulla hanno a che vedere con l'aspetto musicale dell'attività della band), la strada di Alessandro delli Carri si separa da quella della band. Nonostante la momentanea assenza di un batterista, gli Utopia Divides continuano a lavorare alla scrittura di brani inediti in vista della produzione del loro primo album. La filosofia del gruppo è essenzialmente una: lavorare serenamente e produttivamente insieme senza limiti per dare spazio all'ispirazione del singolo nell'armonia collettiva.

2008 - Una scelta professionale, presa da Michele e Giuseppe, porta a terminare la collaborazione con Andrea Lurdo e Alessandro Duò ( con il quale restano buonissimi rapporti). Attualmente sono in corso le audizioni per cercare i membri mancanti, anche se alcuni nomi sono già segnati nel futuro della band. Il cambio della line-up è un passo forte e deciso che non demoralizza i restanti Giuseppe e Michele, anzi, rende gli stessi ancora più determinati a perseguire il sogno comune... Utopia Divides è un ideale in cui credere... e i membri, in quanto tali, devono conservare questa forte fede.

The "Utopia Divides" project was born in september 2007 from an idea of Michele Di Lauro, Andrea Lurdo and Alessandro Delli Carri. Once they leaved the old "Infinity Stream" project, they moved to Bologna where they completed the line-up joining Giuseppe Barile (keyboards) and Alessandro Duò(vocals). The band started its activity with the covering of classical progressive songs and then undertook the paths of composition.
In December 2007, due to a serie of misunderstandings (not related to the musical activity), Alessandro Delli Carri leaves the band. Despite the lack of a drummer, the composing work keeps going on looking forward to the production of a debut, full lenght album. The band philosophy is to keep the musical working ambient peaceful and productive, working together as one without any limitation, to follow each member's inspiration stream.

2008 - Michele and Giuseppe decide to end the professional collaboration with Andrea Lurdo and Alessandro Duò. The band is now completing the line-up and some names are already written in the band's future. This change was an hard decision, but it has not broke down the remaining members wich are now even more determinet to follow the common dream... Utopia Divides is an ideal in wich to believe, and members must have this strong faith.

Attualmente la band è impegnata nella scrittura del loro debut album, un concept interamente ispirato e dedicato all'opera di Tommaso Moro, filosofo del 500', dal titolo "UTOPIA". Il progetto prende il nome dal greco "Ou - Topos" che appunto significa utopia. Inoltre sono in corso le prime audizioni per l'entrata del nuovo batterista che entrerà a far parte di questo progetto.
Currently, the band is committed to the writing of their debut album, a concept inspired and dedicated entirely to the work of Thomas More, philosopher of 500 ', entitled "UTOPIA." The project takes its name from the greek "Ou - Topos", expression that means precisely that utopia. Currently first hearings for the new drummer who will be part of this project are going on.
