Not a bad list. I think I just realized I may be a fanboy.....
I am one of those people that when they say "I like everything but country music," I really mean it. I really do have just about everything you can think of in my CD/MP3 collection, and I listen to it a lot. Bands ranging from Punk, Jazz, Techno (and all the many genres that encompasses now), Rap, R&B, Rock, Top 40, Hip-Hop, Dance, Motown (and the likes), Instrumental, Opera (I will admit, I don't have a lot), Hardcore, Southern Rock, Funk, Reggae, Latin, Salsa, and Reggaton. I'm sure I left out some things....I also like to dance to just about all of those...less the instrumental and opera. hehe
Hook, The Neverending Story, Any 80's Movie, Truman Show, Fight Club, Snatch, Kung-Fu Hustle, Ong-Bak, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, stuff like that.
Scrubs, Lost, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Heroes, The First 48 Hours, Tech TV (R.I.P.).
Currently Reading: The Bible and The Game Producers Handbook.
I've been known as Superman my entire teenage to adult life, so I can't neglect to mention Superman. But I don't really relate to him. I think my hero is my dad. I never thought I would say that over like 5 years ago. But I have put some years on me and learned some things not only by listening to him, but just watching him. I envy his relationship with his wife, his financial stability, and knowledge.
On the other hand, my mother is my hero. I know that she feels like a failure in some retrospects, but what she fails to realize is that she completly raised a child while holding down a full time job. This by today's standards isn't that uncommon, but 20 years ago, it wasn't that common. My mother taught me what it was like to be in the worst of times and still be positive. I remember helping her roll pennies just so that she could have money to get gas with. Growing up was tough, I'm not going to lie. I moved many, many, many times. It wasn't always easy being the new kid. Everyone likes to pick on you and you really never get to fit in with a crowd. But my mother was always there. Growing up she was my best friend. She wasn't afraid to talk about finances or anything she was feeling or worried about. Although that forced me to grow up faster than I wanted, it gave me an appreciation for honesty and what it was like to be independent and having to make it on your own. My mother is an amazing woman. She still continues to let me be her "baby" to this day. :-)
Although very different, are both my heroes. My mother and father have done a very good job raising me under the circumstances under which they had, and I think they did a good job.
