I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

So, I'm back in Texas...a place that will always be home to me no matter where I roam. Currently I'm kind of in limbo. For the first time in my life I have a long term goal, but the path to get there is still unclear and branches in a few directions I can choose to go. Although it's difficult for me to just chill and regroup, it's necessary that I don't just go barreling down a path right now...one step at a time, slowly living in the now for once. Luckily patience, although still not my strongest attribute, is something I have learned to cultivate. And when I falter, my friends and family are there to steady me on the journey.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Music:

"Life without love is like Rock and Roll without a drummer."Red Hot Chili Peppers is my all time favorite band. They've gotten me through so many times in my life, both good and bad. After that, I listen to everything really...depends on what I'm doing and what mood I'm in.

Movies:

Depends on the day...horror I can only watch occasionally and only when I have someone to curl up with afterwards.

Television:

Don't watch much, specially in the last 3 years. I get hooked on series alot when I do watch. Heroes is awesome and Two and 1/2 Men makes me laugh.

Books:

I'm a Fantasy buff, although I do like most anything with a good plot. I also like true crime and biographies.

Heroes:

The people in my life who are there for me, no matter what: it takes a strong person, imo, to to accept and support me.

Its who you know

Going out is fun when your best friend happens to be a cop.  Tonight was spent in a biker bar where she's had to write citations for noise disturbance, a couple hours drinking with some of the un...

Memo to Self

Few things I've had to consciously think of since getting back here:Vehicles: ~The steering wheel is on the left side of the car, and please remember to drive on the right side of the road.~120 is no...

Irony

I know I've touched on this before, but on this last day in a country I did love, I feel I must again. My last sights of Japan...The ferris wheel I refused to ride at Landmark Tower, Landmark Tower it...

Empty House

There were pictures on the walls, curtains on the windows, fur bunnies under the couch I liked to pretend weren't there for a month or so.  Funny how sound echoes through an empty house as if rem...

Bitter Sweet

I've been so anxious to leave Japan for so long, to the point I couldn't remember what I'd liked so much about being here.  I was focused on all the problems, the details of moving, my own isolat...

Control

I've always been strong...physically, emotionally.  I'm 5'3" and can rip the column out of a car by hand (yes, I've done so and still get teased about it), and I can handle anything, as I've foun...

Rest in Peace, Finally

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about a man I used to know.  I met him online, and I’m just old enough to still feel that is taboo; but, searching through profiles one day, bored at w...
