Interview with D.I.A video man of the year 2006, video ropesTT : How did you got started in the video business ?VR : My girl friend at the time bought me a video camera,
that is how i got started.TT : How long have you been doing it now ?VR : Lets see , about ten years now.TT : Who or what motivated you to be a video man ?VR : no one really , i was a dj but i saw that only one set on people use to be on video light thats why i started it so that everyone can be on it.TT : Is it a very competitive business ?VR : Yes it is a very competitive one.TT : How far do you plan to go ?VR : At the moment i am working on a documentary so the sky is the limit .TT : What do you think about the dancehall industry today ?VR : Too much bad mind people in it.TT : What is the most memorable moment do you having videoing an event ?VR : my most memorable moment is when i did pimp dance in 2000 , where i work very hard and did not get paid.TT : What was your worst experience ?
VR : I was doing a dance when a man hit me with a gun.TT : So why do they call you the gal dem video man ?
VR : because i video the things dem.TT : We know that you got video man of the year 2006 how did you feel after recieving this award ?
VR : very very good.TT : Did it make you become more demanding by promoters ?
VR : Yes it did mostly by lady promoter all over the country and abroad .TT : What advise do you have for young and upcoming videoman or woman who want to take up this type of business ?VR : Be professional , never over book , always be on time , and dont forget to compliment the ladies.TT : And finally since you are the girls dem video man what would you like to say to them ?
VR : Talk the things dem but be careful of what you say. So there we have it the long awaiting interview with Ropes telling it as he see it. so ladies as the man says " talk the things dem"!!!!!!!
