About Me

Improv? What's that?
WARNING: Improv is addictive as meth but much less likely to explode! Improv is unlike any other theater you have ever experienced. Scientifically speaking, improv is process of creating scenes, characters, and plots as you go. There are NO scripts, NO directors, and usually NO budgets for sets. We do not know how the scenes will progress until we open our mouths. Once you try it, you will want more. You will crave it, need it, and want it as bad as any drug.
What is long-form improv?

Long-form is not for pansies...it is for the serious improv lover who can really go the distance. Traditionally, long-Form improv is a series of scenes (usually 3) that are inspired by monologues and unique characters. The challenge is to connect three separate themes to somehow make sense or a story...sometimes this works-sometimes it doesn't-THAT'S THE CHALLENGE!
What is Project Improv?
Project Improv is Louisville's longest performing improv troupe around. We are self-declared as the sexiest! Although the cast has evolved and new faces contiually grace the stage, the goal is still to provide quality improv and make you laugh, cry, or just ponder your own existence. You will walk away from our shows scratching your head and craving more!
Our 2005-06 season involves the creation of our own sit com- LEAVE IT TO LEAVER...where the audience follows central characters through scenes. Like a real sit com, there is a title and "tag line" provided by the audience. When our cast usues the tag line-WE ASK THE AUDIENCE (THAT'S YOU) TO CHEER MADLY as if an applause sign were flashing (Remember, we have no budget for a REAL set)! Subejcts for the sitcom have included necrophilia, pickles, religious humor, dating, etc. NOTHING IS OFF LIMITS-THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS!
You will not have this experience any other place or meet such a creation of characters until you sit in a PI show. While our shows are open to everyone, PLEASE be aware...we have adult themes, language, and sometimes sexually suggestive themes (brief nudity has occured and we apologize for any offense this may have caused)...IT'S ALL MADE UP SO YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO SEE BUT WE GUARANTEE YOU WILL NEVER SEE THE SAME SHOW TWICE!
I NEED THIS EXPERIENCE...HOW DO I DO IT?
It's EASY! We perform EVERY Friday night...rain or shine....
Where: The Kentucky Theater (651 S. 4th St.)
When: 9:00 PM(Doors open @ 8:30, limited seating.)
