I teach vocal music, grades 7 to 12, at Lawrence High School. I work with a great bunch of kids and I love sharing the gift of music with them as often as I can. I am also the founder and director of the Lawrence High School Show Choir. I spend a lot of time working with this select group to prepare them for performance and competition. I have to admit, I have a great time doing it. ;)
I am a total photo nut and I love to sneak in a little bit of time here and there working on my scrapbooking. I have thousands of photos and one of my favorite things to do is set up a table in the living room and spend a few hours lost in all my pictures and scrapbooking supplies.
My best friend Lynn is great! She and I get to spend time together on a regular basis. We sang together in the 5th place International Quartet Along Four the Ride however the quartet disbanded in December of 2007. Lynn and I both love scrapbooking afternoons, AND we teach in rooms that are right next door to each other!
I don't have much spare time, but what I do have I love to spend with my AMAZING family! My husband, Tom, works with theater software and spends a lot of time on the road, so we have to take all opportunities for family time. My son, Ben, is eleven and a great baseball player and he can take anything apart and put it back together again! He and I like to do many creative projects together. This past fall Ben started playing Football and continued into Basketball season, he loves to be active so he started swimming with the Mid Maine Dolphins and is becoming quite a competitor. Alex is eight and his speciality is mastering any video game he can get his hands on. He played Basketball for the first time this year and loved playing. He is excited to go to Camp Tracy this summer and learn archery. His favorite thing to do with Mom is to snuggle on the couch watching TV. Kelsey is 21 now! She works at Starbucks and has me completely addicted. She also loves to read and write and can most often be found with a pen in her hand. She has recently gone through some life altering events and I am really proud of the way she is working through things. Even though she would never really believe me I admire her so much and she is a constant light in our lives. We are certainly a very close family and we can always make time to watch a family movie or play a game together. Life together is definitely and adventure and anything we can all do together is time well spent!
My life is one crazy journey, but I love what I do and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Anything else you want to know? I might not tell you, but why not ask? ;) Feel free to leave comments or messages, I love to find a little something waiting for me when I get home. :-D
