Band Members: Mostly, it's just been me. Some say that's all I need. But - on special occasions when conditions are right, I like to pull out my former brother of the road ..boards of all kinds, the fabulous Mr. Don Eanes, who is an exceptional musician is his own right. Don appears nationally in theaters and both Disney locations, with Elvis impersonator Scott Burns. For samples of this awesome show, type in Scott's name on youtube.com. Don and I spent 12 years playing every kind of venue imaginable in VA/TN and the Carolinas. He was instrumental in arranging, and played on my first CD, "H.B. Beverly & Friends" on all but one cut, and will be contributing to my upcoming CD on RUNAWAY BAY RECORDS as well.

Influences: My earliest influence was Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis. Next was Bruce Springsteen. Jim Croce and John Denver also had big impacts on my singing/playing styles dduring the 70's and 80's.............. Next was the ultimate toastmaster Jimmy Buffett, and the great John Prine. If I had a dime for every song I've sung by those two guys, I could have a 20 room house with a 4 car garage to live in right now. But in the words of Jimmy himself, "I pissed it away so fast!" ................... Jerry Jeff Walker also had a big influence on my writing during the 90's. The great Rodney Crowell, Todd Snider, and Steve Earle have also influenced some of my latest compositions. In other words, I'm old school ............................................................
........................................ Now for a treat, or a laugh, depending on how you look at it! The folllowing is a clip that was posted by a Bass player from one of my old bands back in the 90's, Mr. Charlie Aesque. That's Charlie nearest to the camera in this video, and he also plays in the Kingsport, TN Symphony Orchestra..... For me, this is mostly embarrassing, as I was fired from the band "for moving around too much on the stage to be an R&B/Blues singer." I didn't agree at the time, but now I see my greeness coming through - loud and clear! But, it does show me at a time when I was doing everything from John Prine and Jimmy Buffet to Albert King, and The Allman Brothers. It should be said here that The Stratocats were one whale of a Blues band - the best in my own biased opinion. Each one of the them were awesome players in their own right. Enjoy! ..............................................Description: Rare footage of Blues band, The Stratocats performing "Must be the Devil" from October 1992. Recorded live at Viking Hall in Bristol, Tennessee. Featuring singer H.B. Beverly, Charlie Aesque on Fender Bass, K. D. Forsha / Keyboards, Gary Redden / Guitar, and the late Terry Baker on drums. Thanks, Charlie! The Stratocats LIVE at Viking Hall 1992 RARE

Sounds Like: My own originals sound like maybe James Taylor, Jim Croce, and Jerry Jeff Walker and about 20 other Americana, Caribbean Country, Rock 'n Roll, Hillbilly, and Rockabilly artists, all rolled up in one. Weird, but it works...
