About Me

Michael-Owen Liston is an acoustic and electric musician, raised in the sublime mediterranean idyll of Vancouver, B.C., and now hailing from Montreal, QC. , Onanole, MB , Toronto, ON.
Michael's healthy appetite for all manner of musical styles and idioms has not only given him strong, healthy bones and teeth, but also a vibrant, lyrical and unique voice on his instruments, chiefly the double-bass, and banjo.
Always striving for the best in aural taste, Mike takes pleasure in being a sensitive, dynamic accompanist, seeking to provide the optimum musical experience, as perscribed by law. While he thoroughly enjoys holding down the firmament, he also has a keen fondness for the textural, experimental urges, and he is a regular participant in Toronto's improvised music community. Michael has also composed soundscores for dance and film, and currently performs his own "alt-roots" songs under the name of
