Mike Stone

About Me

A much-admired veteran guitarist from Chicago, Mike Stone has recently released his second instrumental EP, Thrive. Mike is presently writing a follow-up full length album, working as a hired-gun on a range of projects, and actively pursuing label and endorsement deals for his distinctive sound. Stone’s admirers have long appreciated his trademark guitar skills and ability to adapt to diverse music styles from pop to metal and most everything in between, including hip-hop & punk. Mike is perhaps best classified as a rock guitarist with no boundaries. His biggest influences include legends, such as Eddie Van Halen, Pete Townshend, George Lynch, & Jeff Beck.Although primarily an "ear" player himself, Mike teaches lessons for all skill levels in his free time. His passion for music started early, listening to The Beatles, Who & Journey, growing up in the late 70's. Stone started lessons at the age of twelve and increasingly became obsessed with the great hard rock players of his era and earlier.
