Double bass extraordinaire Damon Kaye; whose credits include The Mighty Hornets, Highway 33, Topa Twisters, Candye Kane, The Domino Brothers among many others puts his heart and soul on the line with Guitarist Robert Ramirez; who has played in a laundry list of Ventura and Santa Barbara bands, including JD'S Last Ride, Big Wednesday, Extract and Big Wheel Deluxe, Baby Doll and Stringman and Bill Bensen; whose credits include Resin, Raging Arb and the Redheads, Signicci, Circa Now among others and Drummer Chuck Herrera; whose vintage beats have backed Robert in JD's Last Ride, Big Wednesday and the Corsican Brothers
Damon happened upon Bill at Chris Byrd’s 50th birthday bash and the two started working on their songs. Robert's hair salon where Bill gets his hair cut was the perfect place to talk Robert into joining the band. With Robert and Chuck in the fold these late night sessions have produced a sound that Damon describes as “Coal mine, moonshine and moving on down the line...â€. A mix of Rockabilly, Blues, alt.country, Irish Folk via the Pogues and 60’s acoustic roots; Big Chief Radio won’t be pigeon-holed.
