Jasper Huysentruyt

Born in Kortrijk, october 1983, i have been obsessed with music from childhood. Piano is my main musical medium,because it is incredibly versatile.I studied music production(one year) and Jazz piano at the Ghent Conservatory.I was taught by Erik Vermeulen, Ernst Vranckx, Marc Godfroid, Pierre Vaiana,en many more... Over the last eight years i have been performing ever more. I have been playing in several bands, ranging from blues, popmusic, drum'n bass to jazz.I have an ongoing need to keep exploring new musical horizons and i like to learn new things every day. In 2004 i decided to form a trio ( which had some personnel changes over the last years). We play standards and some of my own stuff. On bass Filip Vandebril, on drums Lander Gyselinck.Lately i started composing new songs. I also have a brand new electronic music project coming up involving Lander Gyselinck( drums), Youni Isoherranen( bass -effects), and Mixmonster Menno ( turntablism). More information soon.
