HORROR OF 59
Horror of ’59 first crawled out of their graves and onto the Cleveland music scene in September of 2004 with an aggressive yet melodic blend of punk, rockabilly, metal, and garage rock, a perfect match for the band’s twisted tales of terror and titillation. In October of 2005 the band released their debut album ’Screams From the Cellar’ on Sonic Swirl Records with the line-up of Deke on drums, M. Balmer on guitar, Tommy Horror on bass, and Bob Noxious on vocals. Shortly after the album’s release, M. Balmer left the band, Tommy switched to guitar, and Deke switched to bass. The new line up was completed with drummer Brent Bastard and begain playing shows in January of 2006.
Now as 2007 comes to a close, Horror of ‘59 is back with a brand new collection of cuts from the crypt with their second album ’The Golden Age of Sin’. It’s an album that expands their sound while remaining true to their bloody beginnings. The album is co-released through Cleveland-based Shark Attack! Records and My Mind’s Eye Records and features eye catching cover art by renowned artist Mitch O’Connell. ’The Golden Age of Sin’ begins now!
As another year of mayhem looms ahead, the band finds itself undergoing further mutations. Founding member Deke has decided to move on, but not before picking his own replacement in the person of Jimmy Dale Killmore aka Jimbo Hissem, formerly of The Slack Jawed Yokels and The Shrill. Finally, to add even more raw power to this musical monstrosity, the band has recruited second guitarist Tommy Roulette. There’s nothing you can say, there’s nothing you can do to make this nightmare go away.
LORDS OF THE HIGHWAY
Lords of the Highway from Cleveland, Ohio have been tearin’ up asphalt since 1992, bringing you hillbilly punk rock that knocks ya flat, runs ya over, and doesn’t look back. The Lords have hauled along the highway from NYC’s CBGB’s to honky tonk dives in the hills, playing with the likes of Reverend Horton Heat, Southern Culture on the Skids, Hank III, Th’ Legendary Shack Shakers, Dick Dale, Nekromantix, Tiger Army, El Vez, Hasil Adkins, Lee Rocker, Ray Condo, and many others - not to mention countless of kick ass punk bands.
They’ve played events including Daytona’s Bike Week, and are regulars at the biggest baddest party in this hemisphere, Heavy Rebel Weekender in Winston-Salem, NC. The Lords are also no strangers to the big & little screens, having appeared in the Campbell Brothers motion picture ‘The Red Skulls’(2006) as well as being contestants on the TV show ‘The Next Great American Band’.
You also can find the Lords music as soundtracks for 6 other independent films, and the band also has a DVD of their music videos, The line-up for the newest album ‘Die, Monster, Die’ includes Sugar on, over, and under the upright bass, Joey Hissem beatin’ the hell out of the drums, and Dennis A. Bell astounding crowds with his "smoke and mirrors" technique on his hollow body Gretsch. This latest album will be the sixth full-length release for the band, and is shaping up to be the scariest yet!
