About me: Well this was back from last MAY,2007 But I promise to update soon.Wow... a year has gone by since my last back surgery and now today I am recovering from my second and hopefully last back surgery down here in a Marina Del Rey Hospital. I feel very good about my surgeon, the staff here and for a very speedy and succesful proceedure. I miss getting dirt on my boots and long conversations with my sweety Rebecca Lynn. In the last several years we both attacked Half Dome in Yosemite,Down and back up The Grand Canyon,Did an 18 mile hike up to Mt. Rushmore and even tackled the "city to sea" half marathon in San Luis Obispo, Ca. It has been way too long since I have been able to join Rebecca lynn on any hikes what so ever. There is nothing better than enjoying the view from the top of a mountain with someone you love. I WILL GET MY HEALTH BACK A.S.A.P.! HOW I GOT TO NASHVILLE; About 6 years ago when my Daughter (Emily Grace ) was about 9 years old we were watching TV when I came across a special they were doing on songwriters in Nashville on CMT. That's when I turned to Emily and told her that that is what I have always wanted to do, And with a very simple reply she said " Well.... Why don't you?" So about 3 weeks later I was on a plane by myself heading for a city where I knew NO ONE! I asked my taxi driver to drop me off in front of gruhns guitar shop. I had purchased a couple of guitars from them on-line and found some kind of belonging feeling there, Well, I asked the manager a million questions and he welcomed me to town with a handshake and even gave me the business card to a fellow musician but more importantly a REALTOR! Needless to say by the 3rd day I opened a contract on a new house close to Percy Priest Lake and have been commuting ever since. We have reached the point to where we are building a new and bigger house out in Mt. Juliet, which is about 15 minutes from downtown Nashville. Mt. Juliet is in one of the fastest growing counties in Tennessee and has all the latest greatest stores,restaurants,theatres....... Rebecca and I were fortunate to find a lot at the edge of town and backs up to beautiful trees and is surrounded by other new house's. It seems like it will be a great neighborhood for a home. But eventually we would like to retire in Franklin,Tn. close to the historic and cozy downtown when the time is right. I am the President of a restaurant corporation that operates 2 full service Mexican Restaurants and bars. My partner Marianne and I have been doing this for almost 20 years now and it's finally reached the point to where I can take 7-10 days off at a time to go to my other life in Tennessee. Some people get in their cars and drive 6 or 7 hours to their second homes, I just hop into American Airlines Flight 3009 & 1974 and in 3&1/2 to 4 hours I am there. I do not drink , smoke or do drugs. I came down with diabetes type 2 about 8 or 9 years ago. I have been able to control it very well up until I had my 1st back surgey a year ago, and since then it has been a battle to deal with. I take 8 to 12 shots of insulin per day and believe me "you don't just get used to sticking needles in your body" I have dropped the f-bomb every now and then to deal with the hurt. I am hoping that with the surgery I just had that I will be able to get my excersice in on a daily basis and that should help a lot with my diabetes. The last several months have been very difficult for me to walk more than 2 blocks. As you could assume that I have not been able to work in the restaurants as much as I would like to. Thank God that Marianne has be able to take on a lot more management and keep things running while I have been out. I think She knows that I would do the same for her if anything ever happened to her. Rebecca and I live in a gated community that is surrounded by small lakes including one in our backyard that when full is big enough to spend the whole afternoon in our canoe floating around with our yellow lab sometimes in the canoe or sometimes swimming next to us. We are very lucky to be in a great place surrounded by tons of wild life and open spaces.
