The voice itself is so self-evident to us that only its absence, due to hoarseness or a cold for example, makes us aware of it. The apparently simple process of speech is in reality a highly complex act that involves the lungs, vocal cords, oral and nasal cavities, the lips as well as the jaw, teeth, ears and eyes and of course the brain. One has to become aware of this exact complexity first, states David Lee Brewer. The voice can be seen as an instrument of speech, which is also used by song. As an educator, Brewer is not only concerned about the appliance of knowledge gathered in his seminars about speech, movement and recital, all conforming to the latest international methods, but also about the inclusion of the students holistic personality. His educational (pedagogic) approach is to provide a top-class school of the highest level, thereby taking the artistic competence of his students to a whole new dimension and preparing them to advance their careers in their chosen paths.
