Cool people that will actually enjoy going to punk rock Mondays and other shows with me... I end up going out alone to most of them; my friends and I tend to have different tastes in music.
usually i listen to: NIN, Bad Religion, Pennywise, Massive Attack, Greg Graffin, NOFX, Dance Hall Crashers, The Dresden Dolls, Ibrahim Ferrer, Tsunami Bomb, The Ramones, Minor Threat, Descendents, Rancid, Catch 22, Sublime, Silverchair, Lars and the Bastards, Tiger Army, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Radiohead, Piazzolla, Op Ivy, The Misfits, Tori Amos, Autolux, And more recently: Fabulous Disaster, Nekromantix, Deerhunter, Reverend Horton Heat, Social Distortion and a bunch of random 80s stuff, Joy Division, Flock of Seagulls, Depeche Mode etc. For some reason 80s music makes me incredibly happy... There's a lot of good local stuff here in Bloomington I like as well.
The Science of Sleep, Little Miss Sunshine, Snatch, The Motorcycle Diaries, From Hell, The Vanishing (the Dutch version not the American piece of shit), Blow, Run Lola Run, You're a Big Boy Now, The Graduate, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Donny Brasco, Dead Man, Napoleon Dynamite, Marnie, Harold and Maude, Natural Born Killers, Super Troopers, Edward Scissor Hands, School of Rock, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Angels with Dirty Faces and pretty much anything else with James Cagney, The Corpse Bride, Kill Me Later, Buffalo Soldiers, Mar Adentro, Abre los Ojos, Double Indemnity, Tommy, Sweeney Todd, Donnie Darko, No Country for Old Men, Pink Flamingos, The Notorious Bettie Page, Psycho, The Shining, Death Proof, Bunny Lake is Missing, numerous silent films and many others.
I don't have cable so I just watch dvds of Flight of the Conchords..
Jane Eyre, The Rum Diary, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Hells Angels, Nickle and Dimed, cook books, anything that is somewhat interesting/anything by Hunter S. Thompson, books about social issues-i'm really excited to read Self Made Man; Prozac Nation, Fast Food Nation etc.
