Alana and Nicolle Chirino were born to not your ordinary parents...or family for that matter. Both parents, who go by the names of Lissette Alvarez and Willy Chirino, were born in Cuba and are well recognized for their individual phenomenal contributions to music. Willy, being an inspirational Grammy award winning salsa artist, writer and producer and Lissette being the moving songstress and entertainer having her first television show at the young age of 19. The lineage does not stop there. Okay..enough about them, let's get back to their spawns. Needless to say, they grew up surrounded by music and were singing before they could even speak english at ages 2 and 3....we have video to prove it! They started their first music group at the ages of 11 and 12," Chinadoll", with Bee Gee's, Maurice Gibb's daughter, Samantha and Majandra Delfino, known for her role in the TV series Roswell. The group made recordings, performed and even appeared on television before disbanding when puberty hit, at 14. Then 2 years later came "The Chirino Sisters".A band that composed of both Alana on bass and Nicolle on guitar, among their 3 other sisters whom also sang and played instruments. The band was signed to Sony/Crescent Moon and won the reputable world music competition, The OTI in 2000 before going seperate ways. Now, after years of Alana and Nicolle doing separate musical endeavors (see www.myspace.com/alanachirino & www.myspace.com/nicollechirino, they have decided to finally join forces again in their recent musical brainchild, Star Stereo.
