Hailing from Singapore, JPS move to Melbourne in 1999 opened up the world of Drum n Bass to him. Launching the successful Bassix, local parties with Blanco allowed him his first taste of promoting and secured his place as one of Melbournes most respected DJs. This led on to the establishment of Elementz, with Blanco and DJ Fletch, which is now one of Australias most successful DnB events teams. Elementz Sound Collective has been described many times as Australia's foremost drum n bass promotions group. One only has to look back through the countless high quality events represented in Austrlalia by Elementz throughout the years to acknowledge that this title is entirely deserving. Representing and touring international DnB artists and in the process making many important contacts Elementz has established itself as the primary Australian touring agent whilst working with overseas artist managements for the likes of Goldie, Suv, Teebee, Roni Size, J Majik, Noisia , Klute, Total Science, DJ Cash Money and many more. Formed in 1999 by long time good friends, Roger De Payva (Blanco) and Jerry Poon (JPS), Elementz entered the Melbourne drum n bass scene in humble fashion, with small local nights called Bassix held in a dingy basement club. The crew back then consisted of JPS and Blanco, alongside Fletch, Seven and Gem, which soon saw these parties become a much anticipated event on a monthly basis. Each time building up a more and more of a loyal base of support, Elementz soon became a force in the Melbourne drum n bass community. In 2000 Blanco and JPS decided to venture into doing International parties, identifying a real gap in the drum n bass scene.JPS has been a resident for Fractured, Social Club, Bassment and Elementz parties. In recent times he has also started exploring production by means of collaborations with Kiat, Johnny Hooves and Motive, proving successful and leading to being signed to Congo Natty Outer National.JPS current focus (as well as running a club, playing weekly and promoting international parties) is on his management group, The Operatives, an agency that focuses on artists in the Asia Pacific and aims to raise the profile of local artists throughout the world. JPS now manages much of the Melbourne DnB talent and has signed NZ superstars Concord Dawn and the Upbeats for Australasia.He has also recently launched The Operatives Radio, a Kiss Fm based show showcasing DnB to the Melbourne Massive alongside host DJ Seven.Having played to packed crowds in Singapore, Australia, UK and the US as well as supporting and impressing some of the top internationals on the touring circuit including Goldie, Mark Rae, Ursurla Rucker, Krust, Die, Roni Size, Patife, Total Science, Klute, Marcus Intalex, Suv, Bad Company, Friction, Ray Keith, Trace, Moving Fusion, SS, Kila Kela, Pendulum, Bryan Gee, The Mixologists, Andy C, Mampi Swift, Doc Scott, Bryan G, C4C and Kiwi boyz Upbeats, Shapeshifter Sound System and Concord Dawn as well as local heros Pendulum and many more, this dub styled warrior always keeps it fresh and running.
