After playing with different musicians from the Seattle area for three years, the Amarals introduced traditional Mexican music to a group of American students from the University of Washington in the summer of 2000. These musicians had been involved in many different styles of music, including Jazz, Classical, and Rock. They were very enthused in learning this totally different type of music. In only 18 months since this band began they have gained tremendous support and popularity among the Hispanic community of Washington State despite the fact that it is integrated mainly by American musicians, showing once again that music has no barriers.
