NYC Bob Dylan Meetup Group

About Me

Welcome to the NYC Bob Dylan Meetup Group's page.
If you are a fan of Bob Dylan's music, this is the group for you. There are no membership dues, secret handshakes, or requirements to join. We don't bar no race, and we won't laugh at yer looks, your voice, or your face. And by any number of bets in the book we'll be rollin' long after the bubblegum craze.
Last fall we held our first walking tour of Bob-related Village locations; we also had a viewing of Renaldo and Clara (thanks for hosting Jenny), and we will be doing other events in the upcoming months.
Also, we meet once a month at a differnt bar to raise a few glasses, talk Bob, and raise a few more glasses.
Come by, check it out, share in our love of Bob's music.
Next month we will be meeting at Grassroots Tavern at 20 St. Marks Place in NYC. Date to be announced. Come join us for a pint or two and some good Bob conversation. With the release of Together Through Life, there is a lot to discuss.
Also, please support the grassroots effort to create a monument commemorating the 50th anniversary of Bob Dylan's arrival in New York City. Sign the petition. Get involved. Become part of Bob History. Here's the link: http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/eternal-circle.html
If you want to be added to our mailing list, e-mail us at [email protected].

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

May Your Song Always Be Sung...I was saddened to learn that a fellow Bobster and online friend, Thomas Eckhardt from Germany, died in an accident while following Bob's tour in Italy in June.We had many great conversations about Dylan and traded some great shows and Dylan memorabilia. He was a great source of Dylan knowledge and a good person.I enjoyed our many talks and am saddened I will not have the opportunity for even just one more.I hope somewhere a street band is playing "Nearer My God To Thee" for him.And while it may only be small comfort, it is good to know that those Caribbean winds still blow and that now his spirit and memory are carried on them.Peace, my friend.Brian Slattery
