About Me
Known for his creativity and “In the Pocket Style,†Chris has been one of the Southeast's most energetic drummers. His father was a guitar and fiddle player, so he was constantly surrounded by music. He had a huge desire to play drums at a very young age. He remembers practicing on the living room furniture at the age of 13 getting ready to play with his father’s band on Saturday nights. As a young drummer, he had the privilege of sharing the stage with country music legends such as Bill Monroe, Kitty Wells, Lorrie Morgan, Gene Watson and many other artists. In 1992, Chris left his father’s band and started performing with a variety of bands throughout the southeast. During this time, many bands, such as Encore, Flashbacks, Fabulous Shades, Still Cruzin’, Out of Towner’s, and Alamo called him to fill in on several different occasions. Chris also had the privilege of opening up for acts such as the Tam’s, Chairmen of the Board, The Embers and many more beach bands. His experience combines many different styles of music from Motown, Funk, Blues and Country. Chris had the opportunity to perform on a tour in 2007, where he had the privilege of opening up for acts such as Lonestar, Rodney Atkins, and Colbie Caillat. He is currently playing with The City Street Band from Anderson, SC for events such as festivals, weddings, corporate functions, and private parties. When he is not playing, Chris enjoys spending time with his family and giving back to the community. Chris is available to fill in with other bands and artists when he is not previously committed.
