About Me

Murv have just finished writing brand new material which they are currently putting together in the studio. Described as 'songs to reflect the times' the guys plan on completing the project over the coming months
MURV BACKGROUND:
Never being ones for taking themselves too seriously Murv started the ball rolling in the mid 90's with their guitar based rock tunes.

Hailing from the bogs of Ireland we released our debut single 'King For A Day' (an emotional acoustic-based track) on our own label in '98 (yes ten years ago!). This song went on to be voted by the Irish public, Unsigned Unplugged Song of the Year in 1999 with Bacardi & Irish Music Mag Hot Press.

Our love affair with alcohol didn't stop there when we went on to win the Heineken Green Energy in 2000AD (which was Irelands premiere band comp/exposé/showcase thingy at the time). This culminated with a trip to Manchester to represent the cream of up and coming Irish bands at 'In The City 2000'. Once there booze took it's toll and we ended up killing each other on the streets of Manchester nearly missing our showcase. What a gig though!

We finished off 2000 with gigs in Belfast, Dublin and supporting Bell X1 in Limerick. However we came full circle when we were brought back to perform at the 'Green Energy' in Dublin 2001 as winners from the previous year. This was ironically to be our last gig. The place where all the hard work, rehearsing and dreams from the previous 12 months came crashing down. In-fighting, exaustion and naivity played it's toll.
That was the past, this is now and Murv are back and slightly better than before!!

We reformed to play a very special one-off gig in Athlone castle, Ireland last July of '07. We really loved every minute of it and decided immediately that we had to give it another go, 'We had just too much unfinished business left to do!'

Sound Out!!
