From an early age I only ever wanted to play music! I fell in and out of bands such as The Ice Babies, Bad Blood, The Waterboyz and toured all over Europe and the UK, there are of course others but I won't mention them because I'd rather not be associated with them! I've worked with many top producers and engineers including Julian Littman, Mark Stent, Joe Gibb, Tony Lowe, Westwood and DC Enringa to name but a few. I've written songs for other artists (Cher & Tina Turner) & Film and TV scores without ever just getting to a stage were I was able to relax and say I've got where I wanted to get to.
Then this happens!
I formed Dirty Queens in early 2006 and was then signed to MercuryUK from a demo of 3 tracks and one show quickly arranged for the record label to view the band live, by some strange twist of fate I'd been trying to get somewhere all my life and just as I didn't really care anymore someone picks me out and takes me to where I'd been trying to get to all along, funny that!
Put out on the european festival circuit of that year and well received by the critics and fans alike Dirty Queens enjoyed a summer of mayhem and sunshine.
In the late autumn of 2006 and maybe too much too soon the band members began to argue about musical direction,as frontman and founder I decided I couldn't deal with all this ego stuff again and split the band.
I spent one and a half years out writing music and armed with 2 whole albums of new material I have put together a new act.
Work has begun on the new album which is pencilled for release in August 2009 and will be backed by live festival dates and a tour.
2009 has started well with successful dates in Western Australia followed by a tour of Japan.
If we invite you anywhere it is a genuine invitation to hang out, please accept and get to know us. We will love you all.
Keep it loud and dirty for us until we can get to you xxx
I hope the new sound will be well received and sucessful.
Live dates will be released shortly to promote the album
