Severed Engine are a new Sydney band. Vocalist/guitarist Miles Horler and bassist Oliver Simpson began playing and writing music together in late 2006. In a struggle to find a drummer, Miles and his brother Pip Horler wore T-shirts to Sydney Big Day Out in January 2007 with the words 'DRUMMER WANTED' painted on in bright red.Thus Severed Engine found their drummer, Tom Hayes, and lead guitarist, Luke Hines. The full band have been playing together for 12 months, and in that time were able to record a 4-track CD at Level 7 studios in Sydney.Severed Engine's music combines the genres of heavy rock, progressive, and metal.
