I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

As if I don't spend too much time online already, I've caved in to the pressure and formed a MySpace page. Still not really sure why I waited so long; could've been because "everybody else" was doing it, and I was trying to resist being part of the herd. Pffft, a lot of good THAT did me.
Anyhow, I'm here to announce that after four years (!) of being a loyal and hard-working merch-guy to Winnipeg band The Perms, I've decided to go freelance. Imagine (or realize) that you're in a band: You have CDs, t-shirts, buttons, et-cetera which you take with you to gigs. Problem is, maybe you have no-one to sell it; the band members are busy playing, the people who work at the venue are busy working, your friends/family are busy doing whatever they do. It would suck to leave your valuable merchandise just sitting around, or packed away where nobody can see it and then buy it.
That's where I come in.
It would be my pleasure to sell your items (well, not YOUR items, I mean the merch) while you're on-stage, or otherwise occupied. If nothing else, I'd prevent it from mysteriously disappearing. Hey, maybe I'll even help you unload/set up/take down/reload your equipment; just like a real roadie!
My terms are totally negotiable: All I ask in return is a cold beverage or two, perhaps a bite to eat (assuming the venue has a kitchen), and maybe a CD. Depending on when the show's over, maybe a ride home (if the buses aren't running). That's it; I'm not in this to make money (though if you insisted on paying cash, I'd likely accept), my real goal is to hear as much local & live music as possible. And get out of the house more often.
IMPORTANT: My day-job's schedule is pretty bizarre; my shift is 4 PM to midnight, and my evenings off are Sunday and Wednesday. So those evenings are best for me; sorry for the inconvenience. I promise to find a better job soon.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Local bands/musicians who need somebody to sell their stuff while they're on-stage. Fellow merch-people; we could start some kind of club, maybe?
