Vitae Design Collective is co-operatively run by five area designers. The shop showcases local clothing and jewelry designers who create one-of-a-kind and limited run items. The house labels are Pink Revolver, rok:her:roots, Barbarella, Acanthus, and Magpie. The store features a handful of hot ticket consigners as well as a rotation of multimedia artists with signed and numbered prints available along with original artwork. Vitae is much more than a retail store. The group exists as a resource to the local design community and offers opportunities to participate in style shows, events, and workshops. The shop also provides a creative environment that encourages collaboration among artists. Vitae annually organizes Fashion Midwest Runway Revue in conjunction with Iowa Fashion Week .These events promote networking among artists, shop owners, stylists, DJs, models, photographers, and all those with an interest in fashion.
