About Me
In 2008, the man whose name is an acronym standing for MOTIVATION U GAIN GRINDING SURVIVING YESTERDAY , who got a major record deal on Universal Records without a mixtape release or a strong buzz, who has billboards all over the District Of Columbia and is known as Muggsy Malone a.k.a The Parkway Kid (TPK).....grinded his damn ass off..Google his name if you don't believe these words. The DMV Underground/Mainstream lyrical phenom who rose to critical acclaim by the streets and internet blogs, the military veteran sought out on a mission to prove himself to the world and carry the area on his shoulders, and soon after, the streets were forced to ask the questions: Namely, who is he and why is the industry and critics alike calling Martin Jackson "The Savior Of Hip-Hop"?. To tell the truth, as the writer of this biography of him, he probably hasn't been to sleep for a day before you since you read this. Thats reason number one...Secondly, I don't think that he wants to be homeless..again. Sleeping in a bus station , shelter , or anywhere else other than a nice warm bed of his own is out of the question for him now...Thirdly, he can't join the army...again...and hopes his folks come home from overseas..fourth. He ain't trying sell drugs. If he had to in order to feed the family, he'd do it. But that's what music is for right? To get all of his feelings out. Not do anything stupid anybody? Therapy. thats what they are. Excercise. Workouts. Hitting the gym. Trying to keep positive. Therapy. And hopes and prayers that someone out there feels like him......who's been to the bottom, might be at the bottom now, or on the come up, and wonders if there's light at the end of the tunnel for them at the end of the day....you've just read the first paragraph of living proof that nothing is impossible if you keep God first and never give up.........Welcome to "The Parkway Kid" experience..............................................Born
and raised in the DMV between Maryland and Langdon Park on 26th and Franklin in DC as well as living in North Carolina at brief periods of time, Muggsy Malone's unique voice and off and on cadence flow have captivated his listeners with a vocabulary more flexible than Stretch Armstrong , witty punchlines and real life experiences intertwined in between them, have called some to dub him as "Superman". Because of his constant 16-bar a day minimum excersize routine, some say he's the future Michael Jordan of rap. He's been doing it since he was 9 years old. Took it serious at 13 and never looked back. Already featured in Hip-Hop Weekly, Allhiphop.com, WPGC 95.5 and 93.9 WKYS in DC, HipHopGame.com , Worldstar Hip Hop , HipHopDX.com , The Metro Video and Film Festival on DC-TV as well as with an interstellar and memorable performance at the Million DJ March, before the imminent 2009 release of his debut album "Probable Cause", Muggs is going to put out a project that has been long awaited in not only DC/MD and VA, but the world.."The Parkway Kid pt.1: The Glitch In The Matrix (No Famous Guest Appearaces). Though there well more than likely not be too many feature appearances on the CD, his production credit for the tape boasts of A-list and up and coming talent..The Grammy Nominated "Hey Mr. Carter" producer INFAMOUS, who also produced Muggsy's street single "Somewhere To Be At" (VIDEO SOON!!) , KAJMIR ROYALE (Hell Rell, Crooked I, De La Soul and the movie "Righteous Kill"), "Back In The Go-Go" by Wale producer, DC's own BEST KEPT SECRET, allhiphop.com's American Gangster Remix Album producer Hi-Fly, and DJ Khaled's production team THE MIDDLEMEN just to name a few, He already knows the heavy criticism that may follow taking such a bold stance on an industry that seems to now depend on having guest upon guest on their albums and mixtapes.. "To be honest, I'm a different type a guy." says Malone with an emotionless expression on his face." A lot of people I've met on this ride so far are cool, there's a rack of ego's and bullcrap that I dont deal with for real. Then albums nowadays are featuring everybody and their grandmother. So I said that Im'll show the world that I can hold it down myself. I ain't beefing with nobody or anything like that tho and I'm cool with people in general as long as they're genuine. I ain't hard to get along with. I just put my back to the wall and said f*ck it."................... On the subject of haters..he seems to be more relaxed than animated like most..."Not worried at all. This is the land of the haters where I'm from. And i've had more important things to worry about in my life...like where my next meal is gonna come in , where am I gonna stay for the night and how my family is gonna eat a week from now...what don't kill me make me stronger..period" "TPK pt.1: 2 Legs and Ten Toes"will be released in the middle of June. "Somewhere To Be At" available on itunes now!!! PROBABLE CAUSE coming 2009
