About Me

ABOUT THIS PAGE:
MARCH 2008 we hope you will choose one of two great venues to come out and hear the music. Celeste will bring the full band for these upcoming shows in Vienna and DC:
MARCH 13 at the RED AND THE BLACK - with personal faves Raise Up Roof Beams and with Luego. Red and the Black is one of the coolest and sketchiest places - if you've never been, this is a must.
THEN MARCH 20 at JAMMIN JAVA... they will join 3 fantastic groups for a quadruple threat: Wes Tucker and the Skillets, Leaving, TX, and Gypsy Sons - each with hour-long showcases.
PLEASE VISIT Celeste's Official Myspace or Official Website for more info on these two must-see shows!
About Celeste...
Celeste Starchild (and yes...that is her real name!) is known for her voice and lyrics.
Celeste released her debut EP, "Time Release" (produced by Kevin Gutierrez at Assembly Line Studios) to a sold-out crowd in June 2007.
Past appearances include live performances on XM Radio’s U-Pop two weeks running, live radio performances on WRNR, a feature on the cable television show "American Music" hosted by rockabilly Hall of Fame-er Billy Hancock, and many live music venues including Iota, Jammin’ Java, Bangkok Blues, Iota, the National BBQ Battle, Dewey Beach Music Conference, and the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
Her Story... Celeste's journey into music took the scenic route as the daughter of renowned musician Rick Schmidt who performed with the likes of Doc Scantlin's Imperial Palms Orchestra and Lowen and Navarro at venues from the Met in New York to the White House. Growing up with “alternative" parents, her memories of childhood include jam sessions at the house, picking dandelions for dandelion wine, and shiitake mushroom farming. But Celeste rebelled by following a more conventional path to success trading the mountains of southwest Virginia for a powerful career in business. But as fate would have it, when her dad passed away and left her a 1933 Gibson acoustic guitar, she couldn’t keep her hands off it. Since teaching herself to play, her rich and dramatic voice conveys her stories of disillusionment and "almost" loves...
