I am here for Friends

About Me

How many members of Congress have visited Iraq since the War began in March of 2003? I dare say zero. How many Americans protesting this War have driven route Tampa or down Haifa street and risked their lives to stop the spread of radical Muslims and terrorism? Once again, I dare say zero. The American public has only seen the side if this War that the media has allowed them to see. All too often, we see what CNN is broadcasting from "war torn Iraq," and only half of the story is actually reported. The media has reinvented sensationalistic journalism. If the story is not negative enough or doesn’t have enough shock value, it either isn’t aired or just enough of it is told to get a response from the public. When the whole story comes to light, it finds itself on the back page of the newspaper or on the news late one night. You maybe thinking, "I need an example," and here you go....When the Karbala GC was overrun and soldiers were taken prisoner this story was spun as just another reason we needed to withdraw from Iraq. Innocent American men were dying for no reason at all. However, when you see both sides, this isn’t exactly the case. The men were snatched from a secure compound, handcuffed and executed in the back of the head. This kind of hatred is being taught and spreading rampantly throughout this country and this part of the world. America needs to wake up and see that we either defeat this hatred here, or it WILL spill over to the US and other civilized nations! We could easily pull out, like the 10 Democratic Presidential hopefuls; however, what will be the answer in 10 years when there are suicide bombers in the US and your kids aren’t safe to go to their own schools. At this point, only World War III will be the answer and think of the American casualties we will experience then. We as Americans need to see the big picture and stop criticizing the Soldiers and Marines putting their lives on the line to protect the future of our nation. In addition, the media and politicians are crippling the patriotism of our nation. After September 11th, 2001, we as a nation were proud and pulled together to help one another. We vowed as a nation to defeat the spread of terrorism and to never again let it set foot on American soil. Where has that gone? The men and women fighting in Iraq need that support more than ever, and it is declining in record speed. We are letting the politicians tell us President Bush has been irresponsible with his powers to send troops and he should have never gotten the United States involved in this War. Yes, there are things I would have liked to have seen go differently; however, how does the American public think they are in any way knowledgeable to speak about what "should have been done?" Were there WMD over here? Hell yes! Was there a viable threat against the US? Hell yes! Why hasn’t this been reported? Because many of the weapons sold to Iraq we sold by none other than the "Allies" that refused to enter this country with us! As a person believing in this war and doing their part, I am sick and tired of uninformed American citizens protesting and NOT supporting our troops. And saying you support the troops but NOT the war is a slap in the face to us all! As you watch the news next, all I ask is that you know you maybe hearing only half of the story. Question politicians and their motives and SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!
