About Me

Hello! My name is Roxy but my parents sometimes call me Bear, Piglet, Foxy or Peanut. I am a female American Pit Bull Terrier born November 12th, 2007. Like most pit bulls I am loving, goofy, smart and confident...maybe even a little bossy-bol! I love living in Healdsburg, CA-the heart of the wine country, with my mom, dad and big brother Hurley. I was not a rescue but mommy and daddy wouldn't trade me for the world. Like many people, they did not realize how many dogs, especially pit bulls out there desperately need homes. After starting to volunteer at our local animal shelter they began to understand the true scope of the homeless animal epidemic. My next brother or sister will be a rescue :DMy mom is a Registered Dental Assistant and a big dork who takes way too many pictures of me as you can see. She loves me very much though and makes sure that I eat healthy food and get plenty of exercise and love. Her dream is to start a local pit bull group that would help to promote positive breed awareness and teach responsible ownership. Someday, when we have more space and a bigger yard, she wants to foster pit bulls in need or start a pit bull rescue called Roxy's Rescue. She is also in the process of trying to start an online dog treat company. My daddy is a bad ass welder. His company specializes in building wineries and wine storage facilities but on the side he also does motorcycles, show cars...pretty much anything. He used to race semi-professional motorcycles until he broke his back snowboarding in 2001. My dad and I cuddle a lot and he lets me sleep with him and doesn't mind that I snore even louder than he does! Hurley, my brother is a 8 year-old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix. He is loud, neurotic and makes super weird noises like Chewbacca and barks a lot but he is fun to play with. Hurley gets annoyed sometimes because I use his tail, face and other parts of his anatomy as chew toys and like to pounce on him when he's not looking and when he first wakes up. I also try and steal his food all the time. He does not find this very amusing but he has learned to live with it.Sorry boys-I'm taken by my amazing and handsome boyfriend, Leo the Red Nose Pit. He is the best boyfriend ever. He is loyal and kind and always doing nice things for me. I feel so lucky to have him in my life! This summer I passed my first obedience class but am still working on not jumping up on everyone! Like most pit bulls I love people so it's real hard for me to control myself. I just want to jump up and give everyone lots of licks!! I am on the waiting list to take the Pit Ed class at BADRAP. Then, I will begin my training for the Canine Good Citizen award so that I will be a well behaved pittie and be able to represent my wonderful breed in a positive way. I love making new friends, so thanks for stopping by. Hope you enjoy my page...and don't forget to sign my guest book! Sorry NO friend requests from breeders!
