The Command Radio is a funky, rockin, soul-powered musical project erupting out of the dirtiest clubs of the musically potent New Jersey. This group brings together 6 master musicians on vocals, guitar, bass, drums, saxophone, and trumpet to create a sound comparable to the likes of Led Zeppelin and Parliament. With the raw heaviness of Rage Against the Machine and the groovin goodness of Stevie Wonder, The Command Radio keeps the crowd shouting and dancing throughout every song. Within less than two years the band has recorded 2 full-length albums, toured the US, filmed their international television debut for Fearless Music TV on Fox, opened for artists as large as Linkin Park, Muse, Third Eye Blind, and Fabolous, and even opened up venues as large as Giant's Stadium! This band has reached these accomplishments with no major money machine backing them and has not slowed down since day one. With the music industry being taken over by independent labels and musicians, The Command Radio is approaching the business as creatively as they do their music and taking entrepreneurship to a higher level than anyone has ever known!
"When sifting through dozens upon dozens of band submissions this weekend, we came across something unique, funky, and rockin; The Command Radio. As we are die-hard New Yorkers here at Book Student Activities: we're convinced that only three good things have ever come from New Jersey: Bruce Springsteen, Cheap Gasoline that you don't have to pump yourself, and now... The Command Radio."

"The Command Radio grabbed a spot on Bamboozle at The Break/Stone Pony. This is one of the most gifted and hardest working bands I've seen on the entire contest."
-Joe Reo of Hidden In Plain View
"When the wah wah guitar and pulsing bass line of "Browntown Rock," the album opener on The Command Radio's debut, "Electric War Demos," hits your ears, it digs in hard and drills its way through your skull. Funky like the Headhunters on quaaludes after a Hendrix binge, and with enough distorted muscle and raw firepower to fit in happily with most hard rock camps, these Central NJ natives have been writing together for barely a year, yet they still manage to crank out wholesome, ballsy rock."
-Chris Castro of The Aquarian Weekly
"The Command Radio will be one of the best if they keep it together.
So, for my friends that only read my blog because you like me and not indie rock - this one is for you - I see this band getting a big following from really pretty rich hippy girls. The kind of girls who never go to your school, are incredibly beautiful, always have like an ounce on them and will make out with you in a tent. The kind of girls who drink good beer and wear bape hoodies and have messy hair."

"The band's sound filled the Livingston Student Center auditorium with the sound of shredding guitars and pounding drum kits."The Command Radio is like nothing you've ever heard before," said Carol Diaz, a School of Arts and Sciences first-year student. "They have such a unique and soulful sound. When you hear them, you can't help but move."Ryan Egan, lead singer of The Command Radio, said the band's sound is one that has not been heard before."
-Christopher Echeverria, The Rutgers University Daily Targum
"The Command Radio, which won the battle of the bands and earned the right to open for the three main acts, is the most musically solid performer of the day. It’s a shame that students usually show up late to Rutgersfest, because these guys deserve a crowd. I was skeptical after noticing that the guy who commented here left identical comments on other blogs, but a quick trip to their myspace changed my mind. Fun, funky trumpet-driven rock. They avoid the “ska†label because, well, they aren’t ska. But they have taken a ska sound and evolved it into a more well-rounded rock, and I might actually show up at noon to listen to them. And if you happen to take in any substances beforehand — not that we would ever encourage that — these guys seem like they could give a pretty solid jam band show for you to sway and nod with."
-Tom Wright of Rutgers 41 Miles to Freedom
"Around 3 p.m., crowds attracted by the sounds of a screaming guitar and a blaring trumpet began to congregate once The Command Radio took the stage. The band, winners of the University's annual Battle of the Bands, demonstrated a funky, soulful and rock style with songs including "Big Mouth Blues," "Voodoo Child" and the upbeat "Feeling of Gold.""I liked the instruments that they used. They had a jam-band kind of feel," said Kathleen Lynch, a Rutgers College sophomore. "I thought it was cool that they used a variety of instruments. They incorporated a kind of jazz and rock sound."Matt Madurski, a member of The Command Radio and a School of the Arts and Sciences first-year student, said the crowd grew as the act progressed.
"We all had an amazing experience at Rutgersfest," Madurski said. "If it wasn't for [the crowd], we wouldn't have played as well as we did."
-Rutgers University Daily Targum
"Heavy groove, happening horns, 'tudinal vox, and overall great rock vibe!"

"The Command Radio entered the arena with a goal in mind; they're going to make it. They run their band like a business and play their shows like it's their last one. TCR is talented, unique, and going places - it's only a matter of time."
