About Me

Le Chant Des Fauves - a collection of music of the Sahara

Reaktion is a production label based in Lyon (France).
We are currently gathering music of the Sahara into a collection entitled “Le chant des fauves”. We don’t want to limit ourselves to one musical style, or to one country, or one ethnic group, but we have a preference for today music.
Our aim is to produce “intelligent records”: good music and a lot of information to go further ! We think that music is a good way to spread in the western world news about the social or political situation of those ethnic groups, which are often very fragile.

Reaktion is also the publisher of the website www.tamasheq.net , with the ambition to make it the most complete site about all types of tuareg music, traditional or modern. Sorry, the website is only available in French for now ... but the songs are in tamashek!!
