DJ Europe
DJ Europe is more than just a DJ. He is, arguably, one of Europe’s finest exports. His unique blend of traditional techno and trance sets him apart from his contemporaries
From humble beginnings on his family farm, DJ Europe’s rise to fame has been monumental. He has toyed with modelling, presenting, even spending some time as a radio DJ in Belgium, but it is techno music that is in his soul. In 1980 he watched his first Eurovision Song Contest and was "moved by the beautiful songs and innovative sounds". By the age of sixteen he had won several local talent competitions performing highly charged cover versions of acid house anthems and nursery rhymes using just a portable keyboard. Even then his ability to blend musical flavours was very apparent.
A pioneer, DJ Europe has spent many, many years "perfecting his sound" and "looking for the right record deal".
His album, EuroNation (2008), is a dramatic and thoughtful debut, breaking down barriers and pushing the very boundaries of music. "Christmas Bells", "Can Can", "Washing Machine". Every track invokes a different and powerful emotion. With each song, he brings his powerful lyricism and remarkable vocal versatility to bear on emotional terrain. He is clearly a hugely talented musician, but it is ultimately his voice that surprises, seduces and lingers.
Why does he do it? "I love crazy parties and sexy girls" What does he want? "To unite the world through techno music". Enough said.
One vision. One Nation. Euro-Nation.
