But knowing today that nothing stays the same, everything changes, even this blog...

Theories change, ideologies change, even religions change, they are merely guides, just like the lanes on the road, they are NOT the absolute Truth.

Absolute Truths are dangerous, absolute truths can lead man down the path of fanaticism and narrow-mindedness, it can make man kill his brothers and sisters. Men with absolute truths often are NOT open to others' point of view, instead they force others to accept their views whether by violence/threats, money or propaganda. They kill innocent children, ordinary people, cause unthinkable pain and misery to families and friends of the victims to prove the validity of their Absolute Truths.

Truth is found in everyday life, not in books...

Band Members: A few days ago, two women with mental disability were used as unwitting suicide bombers to kill and injure innocent people in Bagdad, Iraq. They were strapped with explosives and were blown up by remote control admit a crowed market. The 2 attacks were carried out 20 minutes apart, killed 99 people and injured 150 people. The 2 women were known to the community. One of the ladies sold ice cream in the morning and was known as the "crazy lady". Both might have not been aware they were being used as suicide bombers.Women in Iraq often wear the black Islamic robe, the abayas. They avoid thorough searches at checkpoints because men are not allowed to touch them and there are too few female police.Despite its brutality, the use of people with mental disability in suicide bombings is not unprecedented. In January 2005 a child with Down syndrome was used as a suicide bomber to disrupt the election day.Regardless of which side we support, whether we are pro or cons the Americans, regardless of what religion we may follow, regardless of any point of view we may have, using innocent people, particularly people with mental disability to carry out terrorist activities is plain cruel and despicable. The world is becoming ever more complex, with complex issues and problems. Sometimes there's no definite solution to a problem, most of the times there's no right and wrong, and we find ourselves more divided in opinion, we find ourselves in the "grey area". However, using innocent people to carry explosives and detonating them remotely to kill more innocent people is a big NO...This is no grey area. It's a big NO written in black on white. The pain caused by such an incident is immeasurable. Just ask yourself how many people are affected by of each casualty? How do we measure pain? How long will the pain last? And how many generations will be effected by such an incident? The people who planned and carry out this atrocity have chosen to kill and even be killed to force their view on other people. They have the right live as they please, they have the right to end their lives in whatever manner they wish, however the innocent victims have not chosen to follow the terrorists' path of death. Friends and families of the victims have not chosen to suffer for many years to come.So what can we do to stop this from happening?I don't know...There are no simple answers, no simple solutions. The issue is so overwhelming that it would be easier to forget about it, get it out of sight and out of mind. Yet there are so many things we can do to make the world a better place and it all starts from within us.The first thing I would do is harbor Respect.Respect people and their right to live.Respect others' point of view.Respect life.I would work very hard to instill a sense of respect in young children. I would work very hard to teach young children to have compassion and open-mindedness.I would teach children that a kid with a stick can use it to hurt other kids, but a kid who grows up narrow-minded, unwilling to change his point of view and ignoring others' point of view can harm many many more people.Neil Ta.
