About Me

Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / Nymphetamine girl

I started singing at the age of 17, inspired by Malcolm Mclaren's "Madam Butterfly". Even though I already loved Rock-music and Rock-singers in the eighties like Kiss, Queen, Kate Bush and Pat Benatar, I chose to become an opera-singer. From 1989 until 1997 I studied Classical Singing at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, with among others Meinard Kraak and Christine Deutekom. From 1998 until 2004 I lived in Italy - Milan and studied with several Italian teachers. Somewhere along the way I realized that classical music was too unpopular, and that there were only few lucky singers who could make a living out of classical music. That is why in April 2004 I have returned to Holland, my country of birth. Only recently I have rediscovered my love for Progressive and Symphonic Metal. Some of my favorite bands are: Dream Theater, Symphony X, Nightwish, After Forever, Pain of Salvation and Opeth. I still very much would like to find musicians with whom I could make beautiful and powerful music. At the moment though I am studying Tax Law at the University of Amsterdam and I work for a law firm, so unfortunately I have very little time. But who knows in the future I will meet people who share the same passion as I do but for fun and not to become a commercial band. About the sample: too bad After Forever has pulled the plug, but I have this feeling that we will hear more from them even though not as a band.B.t.w. for those who are into the prog-scene: Check out my boyfriend's former band!:http://cliffhanger.aud-io-port.nl http://novox.aud-io-port.nl
