Italiano:La band Myopia nasce da un ambiguo sogno di Mark Grey eCharles Woodruff. Formandosi alla fine del 2003, la bandinizialmente composta da tre elementi, era moltoindefinita e musicalmente umile. Dopo diversi mesi dallaformazione e con materiale pronto decidono di reclutareil giovane fratello di Charles, William Woodruff, allabatteria e Christopher Ferretti al basso. Questa primalineup registrò un primo EP "The Rising", sottoindipendente auspicio.Michael Cavadini entra a fare parte della band nel 2005come tastierista. Da questo momento, la band cambiadirezione musicale con un suono più epic rispetto almateriale precedente, e l'istruzione classica di Michaelha fatto di lui un degno componente della band. Lastesura dei brani e il tour continuano per tutto l'anno,che si conclude con il primo rilascio della band,auto-prodotto full-length, "Il Straightway". Il bassistaChris Ferretti lascia il gruppo poco dopo questarelease. La band è riemersa a metà del 2006, conl'arrivo di Kyle Longley come nuovo bassista.Il gruppo ha proseguito con la creazione di alcuni deiloro più epici materiali, in quanto il processo discrittura così come il suono del gruppo era finalmentedefinito con questa lineup. English:Myopia began as the ambiguous dream of Mark Grey andCharles Woodruff. Forming in late 2003, the band beganas a simple three piece group with a very undefined andhumble sound. After several months of writing openingmaterial, the two would recruit younger brother WilliamWoodruff on the drums and Christopher Ferretti on bass.This first age lineup would go on to record their firstEP "The Rising," under independent auspices. Wesincerely hope no one still has a copy of this.Michael Cavadini came on board in 2005 as the group'ssorely needed keyboardist. By this point, Myopia hadbeen moving in a far more epic direction than on itsprevious material, and Michael's classic piano educationmade him a worthy addition. Writing and touring wouldcontinue throughout that year, culminating with therelease of the band's first, self-produced full-length,"The Straightway." Bassist Chris Ferretti would departshortly after this release. The band emerged halfwaythrough 2006 from the throes of uncertainty with KyleLongley as the new bassist.The group would then go on to create some of their mostepic material to date, as the writing process as well asthe sound of the group had finally cemented with thislineup. The creation of new songs continued throughout2006, and when the lineup of scorching new material wasfinally complete, the ambitious project of recordingNYGHT finally began.The process was both slow and agonizing. With latenights spent in the studio, and amidst an unusuallycruel and stormy winter, Myopia worked tirelessly inHorizon Studios of West Haven, CT, on their brainchild.The tracking and mixing completed in late April, andafter all the mixing was finished, the album would makea journey around the world to Helsinki, Finland, to bemastered by Mika Jussila of Finnvox studios, perhas themost legendary studio in the epic metal genre.After almost six months of waiting, the new Myopiaalbum, NYGHT releases on August ninth. With searing newmaterial recorded painstakingly by some of the masters,it will be like nothing you have heard before.
