About Me
Speakeasy was formed in the Spring of 2003 by original members Mike, Tony and Jake. Initially, the band played countless bar gigs throughout Hampton Roads hoping to grow and create a solid fan base. Soon, bar gigs gave way to bigger venues and more fans. Currently, the band is touring constantly in order to promote their newly released self - titled debut album, "Speakeasy." Work has also begun on a second album, so check back with us often.
'Speakeasy', our debut album, represents over two years of hard work, late nights, and many, many bar gigs. Most of these songs were written as a way to fill the night out, make people dance, or simply get people's attention. Nonetheless, the wide variety of music on this album symbolizes the many unique voices and styles that perfectly creat the band Speakeasy!!! ---We would like to thank: All of our families and friends for supporting loud music, late nights, smoky bars and strange behavior, Buster and Shirley for everything they have done for us, Brock Stallone and the Jerusalem Cowboys, Buddy Ray Robinson and the Overdrive Band out of Windsor, John Babb at Sixx Gun Promotions, Kevin Dawkins, Casey Scalf, Eric and Steve at Alpha, Bill Hopkins, Skip DeRupa, and Robbie for giving us our first gig!!!
