How do you know you have a god given gift to create music? Keez as a young boy was always drawn to music. His parents could see this so when they bought him his first drum kit there was no turning back. Keez without any guidance taught himself to play drums. He later received a keyboard, which opened his mind even more to the limitless possibilities of music. Moving into his teens, music began to take over. Keez would even say everything was secondary, school, girls, hanging out jobs, to his music. You could say Keez fell in love with music. He realized music was what he wanted to do. So it was a natural evolution for music to become his main focus. Keez learned that there was nothing worse than having a musical idea and not being able to bring it to life. He recognized the only way to realize the many crazy ideas he had was to learn as much as possible about all aspects of music. So his mission began. He learned more instruments guitar and bass to name a few. He studied how music was made, how vocals were arranged, what made a song a hit and what made a song a flop. He learned the technology of midi instruments, sequencing and digital recording. Keez worked doing anything possible to be able to open up his first studio. It grew from his bedroom to the garage then to its’ own building. This was the road that led to Keez becoming a producer. Later though, he found it’s not necessarily easy or cheap to bring your dreams to life. Keez sacrificed and did what he had to do to afford session time to put his music to tape. He just wanted to hear his ideas out. Keez had goals of being that next hot producer, producing for the top R&B and hip hop acts. He became possessed with his music and did anything to make his music a reality including leaving his home town. Being from Canada Keez knew to make it in the business he would have to travel to the USA. So before he new it he was on his way to the US to become a respectable producer. His eyes were set on the birth place of hip hop, New York. With no specific destination Keez packed his bags and equipment put his music on tapes and left for New York. After hitting the streets of New York Keez connected with his now longtime business partener Nat A.K.A Street Nelson. Through this connection doors were opened to top artists. Over the years he’s realized his dreams producing for artists such as Loon (Former Bad Boy heart Throb) Jr Writer (Dip Set) Jae Millz (Harlem Battle King pin) G Dep (Bad Boy rhym King) Black Rob (Bad Boy) J Hood (D – Block) R&B legend Christopher Williams. Keez also was afforded the opportunity to remake Roger Troutman's Computer Love which appeared on the Still More Bounce tribute album.Keez is driven. It’s not uncommon for him to spend thirty hour days in the studio. His craft is his top priority. Keez’ dream of being a top producer has come to life. Keez confidently believes his music is the key to what a artist needs for success and when you have the master key you can open any door.keez jr writer
