Coming to you by way of Chicago, Gina Coconato is taking a new and fresh approach to the Country music scene with her warm tones and powerful range.
Growing up in a small town outside of the big city, Gina was inspired by her musical family and had music all around her from the time she was a baby. Her father, Nick Coconato, is jazz percussionist and her mother is Disco/R&B/Dance legend Linda Clifford. And while her parents never put any pressure on her to be involved with music early in her life, Gina would be bit by that bug just before college. She then attended the Theater Conservatory of the Chicago Performing Arts at Roosevelt University which launched a string of performances at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Baliwick Theater, Chicago's House Of Blues and The Royal George Theater. There she would star as one of 4 leads in "I Love You. You're Perfect. Now Change" for a year's time before making the move to LA. Here in LA Gina is singing locally and can most recently be seen at Ryan Black's 88s Cabaret at the La Boheme Cafe and other local venues.
As for the Country influence...That genre has always had a special place in Gina's life. Country was her first love affair with music and she has found her way back to it with the tender, haunting ballad "Can't Let Go" as well as the sweet and make-you-feel-good song "No One But You".
