About Me

Since most everyone on here knows me already, I'll spare you the blah blah blah about me and instead tell you some more noteworthy things about me that you might not already know...
Please check out my blogs...
I love to serve and help others...
I am a preacher's kid, and acted as such... I've chilled finally, but have the urge to rebel from time to time.... :-)
I miss the sopapillas my grandmother used to make in New Mexico when I was but a wee lad...
I started picking out tunes on the piano at the age of 3, and harmonies at 4...
The first rock song I ever tried to play on an acoustic guitar was "Another One Bites the Dust"
The first song I learned on electric guitar was "I Can't Drive 55"
My idea of a guitar amp in high school (since I was too poor to get a real amp) was my old boombox with the tape deck and 1/4 microphone input...I'd put a piece of tape over the record protect tab on a cassette, and put it on record and pause at the same time, and jack up the mic input volume to 10.... OMG it sounded good!!!!... My roommate LOVED me......
The bassline from Nena's "99 Red Balloons" was the inspiration for me wanting to learn how to play bass...
1n 1988, me and my band got kicked off stage at a religious campmeeting for playing a U2 song - Oh the horror of it all!!!
I like red licorice and milk... TOGETHER
I like flour tortillas with peanut butter and honey sandwiched between...
...... or pretty much peanut butter and honey on ANYTHING....
I have a pair of snakeskin cowboy boots so pointy that I can kill a cockroach in a corner... KICK-ASS!!!
This 2007 year is the first Christmas Eve I've spent without family of some sort that I'm aware of... I have very special friends that recognized what was going on, and included me in their plans...Life can't be bad with acquaintances such as these :-)

Anyone with the intelligence to know that myspace isn't life ~ it's just a networking tool on steroids...

On the beach at La Selva Beach, Ca ~My friend Jay's backyard...

There's Great Whites in them there waters...(circa 1986...note the skinnyness)

Now a little about me:

I was born in Niles, Michigan, and within 6 months I was transported to Amarillo, Texas, and then to Las Cruces, New Mexico, where I lived until I was 6.I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area when I was 12 from Eastern Pennsylvania, and have lived in California ever since. In high school, I got the chance to go to Monterey Bay Academy in La Selva Beach - a private boarding school that owned 3/4 mile of it's own beach on the Pacific Ocean. I swear, I must have spent more time on the beach or in the water than I did in school.

I immersed myself not only in the water, but also in the 80's culture. I get teased a bit for being able to name any song and band from the 80's....

Now, as a result of all that water play, I am an 'older' college student.... Trying to get into an X-Ray Tech progam... I am a janitor that manages OTHER janitors (fun times), and run a side business installing home theater systems and satellite systems.
I play in a Christian rock band;
I love to tinker with my old school Toyota Land Cruiser 4X4 and try not to cause body damage on the trails. I once got both rear wheels in the air at the same time while 4 wheelin' at Cow Mountain OHV Park in northern California...

I enjoy basketball, baseball and more basketball.....

I have 3 kids, Ashley, Luke and Jathan:

~Ashley is in college as a sophomore taking graphic design.

~Luke is almost 6 and he isn't doing much other than playing with his 'Thomas the Train' wooden train and track set, and his Transformers

~Jathan is still tiny and cute, and LOVES Thomas as well.... Too precious!!!

Much to the chagrin of many of my friends and family, my secret country music fetish has been made public - - just another thing you'll have to deal with hahaha......

~Julius Nam ~ A TRUE liberal, Julius is the OTHER genuine Christian I know. He opened my eyes to a lot of things in this world, and I cherish my friendship with him.

I don't have any famous people as heros because I don't REALLY know them as human beings.
These men I wrote about above, have all played crucial roles in my life, and I continue to strive to infuse their good traits into my own life. They were there for me when I needed them, and I am honored to know them.
I am to a large extent ~ who I am today because of these men.
