"I always sang, from an early age, with a record player – with latin singers, of course, but also recordings of movie musicals, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand. I wanted to communicate through music. I studied piano and violin and even composed a bit when I was a young boy. At the age of 17, my parents sent me to London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
